BENGALURU: With rising instances of crime in different parts of the state, the cith police have decided to arm night patrol police teams with pump action guns to deter criminals.
The pump action guns can seriously injure robbers and dacoits, but the threat to life will be minimal. These guns have a range of 100 metres and will help in cutting off criminals trying to flee after committing a crime.
The pump action guns are lightweight and will be easy for the night patrol policemen to carry. But they create quite a sound when fired and can alert citizens. The police can also use them against criminals who may try to attack them.
