RAMANAGARA: A young woman NREGA engineer died in a head-on collision between two-wheelers near Basapura Gate in Halagur, Malavalli taluk on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Sharanya Gowda.
Sharanya, a resident of Balehonnur village, was working as an NREGA junior engineer at Sathanur Panchayat in Kanakapura taluk for the past year. She was engaged to be married on February 16.
Sharanya was riding her two-wheeler from Balehonnur to Halagur when the accident occurred. She suffered severe injuries and died on the spot due to excessive bleeding.
The police visited the spot and registered a case at the Halagur police station.
