KALABURAGI: A stone inscription (Masti kallu) with a Shivalinga carved on it was found by labourers while digging for the construction of a water tank at Aland town on Wednesday.
Digging was taken up in a garden of the Aland town municipal council at Mahadevi Nagar, Revannasiddeshwara Colony, using an excavator when the workers spotted the inscription with the Shivalinga carving. As words spread, locals gathered at the spot and offered puja to the Shivalinga.
On receiving information, the tahsildar visited the spot and took possession of the inscription. The official said it will be handed over to the archaeology department.
