BENGALURU: Minorities Welfare and Housing Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan on Wednesday presented three cows to a family in Bengaluru’s Chamarajpet area, whose cows had their udder mutilated by a miscreant. Khan also gave Rs 3 lakh to the family.
Chief Minister’s Political Secretary Naseer Ahmed, KMDC president Altaf Khan, leaders Atush, Gausi, Vinayak and Prasad were present on the occasion.
Notably, Bengaluru police registered a case after the udders of three cows were slashed in the Vinayaka Nagar area of the city, on Sunday. According to the police, an FIR was filed at the Cottonpet police station under Section 325 of the Bharatiya Nyay Samhita (BNS), 2023 in connection with the incident.
Later, the accused Syed Nasru (30) was arrested for allegedly slashing the udders of three cows in Vinayaka Nagar area in Chamarajpet, police said. He has been remanded to judicial custody till January 24. The accused hails from Champaran district in Bihar.
According to the investigation carried out by police, the accused had committed this act under the influence of alcohol. The police have registered under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act, 1960 and Section 325 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).
The accused works as a helper in a plastic and cloth bag stitching shop 50 metres away from the place of the incident. No other person is found to be involved in the incident. The cows after being treated are presently out of danger. (ANI)
