Principal and warden of Morarji Desai School suspended for assaulting students

BIDAR: The principal and warden of Morarji Desai Residential School at Santhapur in Aurad taluk have been suspended for allegedly assaulting students. The suspension orders were issued by KREIS Executive Director Kantharaju.

The students had questioned the principal and warden about the poor quality of food served, as the rice had worms. They had also complained that the menu was not being followed as per the chart. Following the complaint, the principal and warden allegedly assaulted the students.

The incident came to light when officials from the Department of Social Welfare and Child Rights Commission member Shashidhar Kousambi visited the residential school and inquired about the well-being of the students. A report has been submitted against those responsible for dereliction of duty.

The vacant posts of principal and warden have been filled with temporary appointments. Ravindra Chatnalli, deputy warden of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Residential School in Ghodampalli, and computer teacher Dayanand have been appointed as the temporary principal and supervisor, respectively.
