TUMAKURU: A leopard was spotted at the Siddaganga Math premises at Kyatasandra in Tumakuru. A CCTV camera captured the leopard roaming around the math’s Smruti Vana area around 11.30 pm on Saturday.

After a dog on the premises barked, the leopard ran away. The math staff informed the Forest Department officials, who inspected the area and installed a cage to trap the leopard.

It is suspected that the leopard may have entered the premises for hunting a dog. This area has reported frequent sightings of leopards and bears entering villages.

Earlier on Saturday morning, a leopard was spotted roaming around the Saptagiri Layout area in Tumakuru. CCTV footage from a nearby house captured the leopard’s movement.
