BENGALURU: A police constable attached to the Byatarayanapura police station has been placed under suspension after a woman techie complained of sexual harassment in the guise of passport verification.
The complainant, a resident of Bapuji Nagar, has alleged that the police constable Kiran visited her house a couple of times for verification of her passport application and behaved indecently. She has alleged that the constable asked her to cooperate or else he would give a negative report as her brother had a criminal history.
When she did not accept his advances, Pradeep himself closed the door and asked to hug the woman. When he found out that her brother was in another room, he said that he had acted so deliberately and told him that the woman was like his sister, the complaint said.
Following the complaint, DCP (West) ordered the suspension of the police constable after inquiry. Further investigation is under way.
