BENGALURU: An autorickshaw driver has been accused of hitting a passenger with a stick over a fare dispute near the Lalbagh Metro station on Thursday night.

In a post on X, Rahul (@imrahul_81) noted that he and his friend travelled by an autorickshaw to Lalbagh Metro station when an argument broke out after the driver allegedly demanded extra fare. When they refused to pay, the driver allegedly assaulted the friend with a stick.

The auto driver then fled the scene. The duo later visited the Basavanagudi police station along with the stick and Rahul also posted about the incident on X, tagging the city police. On Friday evening, Rahul wrote on X, “We came to a truce since the auto driver Apologized. Basavanagudi Police Station mediated the issue. I have Decided not to file an FIR”.
