BBMP nodal officers to redress civic issues at ward level

BENGALURU: Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) chief commissioner Tushar Giri Nath has issued a circular on appointing nodal officers at ward level to address the grievances of citizens. The nodal officers have been appointed as per the directions of Deputy Chief Minister and the Bengaluru Development Minister D K Shivakumar.

The officers will hold public meetings every Wednesday and address the problems faced by the citizens. They will work in coordination with other departments like BWSSB and BESCOM to resolve the issues at the ward level.

If the officers fail to resolve any issue, citizens can bringing it to the notice of higher officers. The officers will be responsible for holding public meetings every Wednesday and addressing the grievances of the citizens. They will also be responsible for coordinating with other departments and civic agencies to resolve the issues and have to take necessary action to resolve the issues.

If the issues cannot be resolved at the ward level, the officers will take them up with the higher authorities. The officers will have to submit a report to the BBMP Commissioner and the actions taken by them, as per the circular.
