VIJAYAPURA: Upset that the BJP lost all the three Assembly seats in the bypolls, the results of which were announced on Saturday, a party worker threw the television out of his house and smashed it with a huge stone.

Veerabhadrappa Bhagi, a resident of Kolhar town in the district, said the lack of unity among the party’s leaders was the reason for the ‘humiliating’ defeat. In footage from a CCTV camera in neighbouring house, Veerabhadrappa can be seen throwing his television set near a drain and then smashing it with a rock.

Veerabhadrappa vented his anger over the differences among the party’s leaders and said the lack of unity among the leaders had resulted in anger among the party cadre. “The party should have won at least one seat. The seniors should call a meeting of the party’s leaders. Due to the dissidence, party workers are left directionless”, he said.
