CHITRADURGA: Officials, led by Child Development and Protection Officer (CDPO) Hariprasad, visited a wedding hall and prevented the marriage of a minor girl at Challakere town on Thursday.
The wedding was organised at a hall run by a trust. Based on specific information that the bride was a minor, the officials visited the wedding hall and stopped the marriage. They also informed the parents of the bride and the groom about the legal age for marriage.
The incident occurred in Challakere police limits.
