CHAMARAJANAGAR: While normally one would use private vehicles or take public transport to reach the popular pilgrim site of Male Mahadeshwara Hills in Hanur taluk, villagers of Terakanambi Hundi in Gundlupet taluk still prefer the age-old bullock cart.

Several villagers from Terakanambi Hundi have set out to MM Hills in colourfully decorated bullock carts. The horns of the bullocks are also decorated with festoons and the group is making a 145-km trip on these bullock carts.

All through the way, the bullock carts have been drawing attention and a video of them travelling in a line alongside traffic through one of the towns is now doing the rounds on social media.
