BIDAR: A group of farmers, including women, were trapped on farmland after a stream started overflowing due to heavy rain on Friday evening. They were eventually rescued by other villagers.
A group of farmers from Yekalurwadi in Basavakalyan taluk had gone to the fields to harvest soya and other crops. However, they found themselves trapped as a stream was overflowing and were unable to return to their village.
On coming to know about this, other villagers rushed to the spot and rescued more than 15 farmers by helping them to cross the strong currents with the help of a rope. A video of the incident in going viral on social media.
