BENGALURU: Three colleges in Bengaluru received bomb threats on Friday afternoon. The threats were received on email following which the police and the bomb detection and disposal squad (BDDS) were rushed to the colleges.

The threat email was first received at the BMS College in Basavanagudi and later at MS Ramaiah College in Sadashivanagar and the Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT) in Basavanagudi under Hanumanthanagar police station limits.

Teams of the police, bomb squad and the dog squad conducted searches in the entire premises of the colleges including the labs and classroom, but found nothing. The threat was later declared a hoax.

This comes close on the heels of the Taj West End hotel on Race Course receiving a bomb threat on September 28. That too later turned out to be a hoax.
