HASSAN: A Class 8 student died after he suffered a heart attack while watching TV at home at Channapura village in Alur taluk on Friday. Just the previous day, the boy had attended the Prathiba Karanji programme at school. The deceased is Snehit (11), son of Kavyashree and Puneeth.

Snehit had skipped school on Friday as he was feeling tired and had asked his brother Sanjay, a Class 7 student, to also do likewise. Their mother had left for work on Friday morning. Snehit even filled in for his grandfather to supply water, who was ill, and when his brother called him out to play, he refused and was watching TV at home.

Snehit suddenly collapsed and his family members, along with neighbours, rushed him to the local health centre where they tried CPR, but Snehit had died. However, the family took him to the government hospital in Alur where he was confirmed dead.

Kavyashree and Punith had fallen in love and got married more than a decade ago. Puneeth had died a few years ago due to illness and Kavyashree and her two sons were living with the grandparents.
