BENGALURU: Rajareshwari Nagar BJP MLA Munirathna Naidu, who was granted bail in a case related to making castiest remarks, was again arrested by Kaggalipura police on Friday in connection with a rape case and sexual assault case.
He was arrested at the Parappana Agrahara central prison in Bengaluru, where he was in judicial custody in the other case, and is being questioned. Munirathna was granted bail by a special court for MPs on Thursday. However, he was immediately arrested by police upon his release from jail.
A team led by Deputy SPs Praveen and Dinakar Shetty, with tight security and seven police vehicles, arrested Munirathna. He will be produced before a magistrate by evening after questioning and completing a medical checkup. A First Information Report (FIR) was filed under BNS Sections 354A, 354C, 376, 506, 504, 120(b), 149, 384, 406, 308.
