KARWAR: Naval personnel from the Seabird naval base allegedly harassed a fisherman by cutting his fishing net and causing huge losses to him.
Damodar Tandel was out fishing in the Arabian Sea in his boat ‘Veera Ganapathi’ between Muduga and Araga. Though he was reportedly not in naval territory, some naval personnel approached his boat near Araga and cut his fishing net to pieces.
Fishermen in the area said the naval personnel have causes loss to the tune of lakhs of rupees to Damodar Tandel and have condemned the alleged harassment.
