TUMAKURU: Four members of a family were seriously injured when their car overturned on National Highway-48 near Chikkanahalli in Sira taluk on Sunday night after the driver lost control.
The family was traveling from Bengaluru to Ballari in a sedan. The driver lost control causing the car to overturn. The injured were immediately admitted to the district hospital. The Kallambella police visited the spot and a case has been registered.
Locals alleged that the accident occurred due to ongoing road work near Chikkanahalli village and demanded immediate action from the authorities. Locals expressed their anger, and also blocked the highway for a while late at night.
