BENGALURU: Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has started using a bulletproof car after he granted sanction for prosecution of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the alleged Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment scam.
After Governor Gehlot gave sanction to prosecute the CM, protests have been held in some parts of the state by the state Congress. Due to these protests, the governor has taken precautionary measures.
Although he had the privilege to use a bulletproof car, the governor was using a regular Toyota Innova car. A bulletproof car was arranged for the governor when he was administered oath of office, but he had refused it. Now, after receiving intelligence inputs, a bulletproof car has been arranged again.
The governor, who had gone to Indore on Saturday afternoon, returned to Bengalurru on Tuesday night. He cancelled today’s public event and all other events scheduled until August 29.
