NIA conducts inspection at Rameshwaram Cafe and mosque with accused

The NIA conducted an inspection and recreated the scene before the July 1 blast, at The Rameshwaram Cafe on Monday.

BENGALURU: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday conducted a spot inspection at The Rameshwaram Cafe in connection with the March 1 bomb blast case along with the accused.

The NIA brought the accused, Mussavir Hussain Shazib and Abdul Mateen Taha, to The Rameshwaram Cafe in Kundalahalli at 5.30 am and conducted the spot inspection.

NIA officials recreated the entire scene, from Mussavir entering the restaurant, planting the IED and the bomb blast that occurred at Rameshwaram Cafe on March 1, this year.

The NIA also gathered information about the route taken by the suspected terrorist on the day of the blast, the bus stand where he was seen and what he ordered at the cafe before the blast.

They are also trying to find out why he chose that particular spot for the blast, how long he sat there, and about the bag from which he brought the bomb.The NIA also made Musavir wear the same cap and mask he wore on the day of the blast. The investigators recorded every video and noted down the details. Musavir is currently cooperating with the probe.

Later, the NIA officials took Mussavir to the mosque near Hoodi Junction where he changed his clothes after the blast at The Rameshwaram Cafe.

A bomb blast had occurred at Rameshwaram Cafe on March 1 this year. After collecting several CCTV footages, the NIA arrested Mussavir and Abdul Matin in Kolkata on April 12.

Mussavir is the accused who placed the improvised explosive device (IED) at the cafe and Abdul Matheen Taha is the mastermind behind the planning, execution of the blast and subsequent evasion from the clutches of law.
