BENGALURU: After an FIR was registered against the management of GT World Mall for denying entry to dhoti-clad farmer Fakirappa recently, it is now facing the threat of shutting down again in a cheque bounce case.

Old Notice by BBMP

The GT Mall has arrears in property tax payments, and the Palike is planning to close the mall. In the meantime, a cheque of Rs 1.7 crore given by the mall owners towards tax payment has bounced.

The BBMP officials who came to lock the mall on Saturday, returned empty-handed. The BBMP is making all preparation to lock the GT Mall as per the Chief Commissioner’s order.

The BBMP had locked the mall on July 18. Farmer Fakirappa and his son Nagaraj were made to wait outside the mall for over half an hour. After outrage by YouTubers who were making videos, the father-son duo were finally allowed inside.
