BENGALURU: With the garbage menace continuing to haunt the city, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike is considering lodging criminal cases against those who litter the roads or dump waste.
In order to track the culprits, the civic body is planning to install CCTV cameras at vantage points and also get its marshals to keep an eye out for those who dirty the roads, dump waste in vacant sites. People can also inform the Palike and cases will be registered against those who litter.
The Palike has already installed CCTV cameras in some places. Despite door-to-door collection of garbage, many people still dump waste by the roadside. The Palike now plans to nip such activities in the bud and keep the city clean.
