HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced significant decisions benefiting farmers on Tuesday and committed to providing Rs 1,00,000 loan waiver to all eligible farmers by July 18.
The Telangana CMO took to its official X handle and said, “Good news for all the farmers. In the first installment, a loan waiver to the extent of Rs 1,00,000 will be given to all eligible farmers by July 18.”
The post further said that on the subject of ration card provision for loan waiver, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy clarified that based on the passbook, Rs 2 lakh crop loan waiver will apply to the farmers’ family.
The post by Telangana CMO added, “The Chief Minister gave clear instructions to the bankers so that the loan waiver funds do not go astray. He warned that strict action would be taken against the bankers if the funds released for loan waiver are deposited in other accounts.”
In a meeting with Collectors, Police Commissioners and SPs in the Secretariat, Revanth Reddy also gave clarifications on loan waiver and explained welfare schemes at length.
“He (Revanth Reddy) reminded that it is the responsibility of the collectors to deliver the government programmes and schemes to the final beneficiaries,” the post on X said.
The Telangana CM also reiterated that it is the government’s mission to extend the six guarantees to every eligible person in the state. He also said that pending Dharani issues should be resolved by August 15.
