BENGALURU, CHIKKAMAGALUR: A day after a special court for elected representatives rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Bhavani Revanna, wife of Holenarsipur MLA H D Revanna, in the alleged kidnap case, the special investigation team (SIT) headed to Holenarsipur to question her.
Bhavani Revanna, who has been incommunicado ever since the SIT issued notices to her to appear for questioning, was asked to be present at their Holenarsipur residence at 11 am for questioning. Her name cropped up in the case after it figured in an phone conversation between two of the accused. If she does not present herself for questioning, the SIT is likely to arrest her.
On Friday night, the SIT visited the houses of her relatives in Saligrama and Holenarsipur while another team waited near their house in Bengaluru. Bhavani Revanna has not been using her mobile phone and has also not been in touch with any of her family members.
Meanwhile, after her anticipatory bail application was rejected by the special court, her lawyers on Saturday petitioned the High Court of Karnataka and the plea is likely to be heard on Monday.
In a related development, the SIT has arrested Ajith, the car driver of Bhavani, in Chikkamagalur and questioned him at his father-in-law’s house at Kalyan Nagar in the town. A team of the SIT has visited the house 4-5 days ago.
