Jain monk who took vow of Yama Sallekhana passes away

CHIKKODI: Jain monk 108 Samadhi Sena Munimaharaj passed away after taking a vow of Yama Sallekhana at Kuppanawadi village in Chikkodi taluk on Monday night.

The Jain monk had taken the vow some days ago and passed away on Monday night. The last rites were conducted as per Jain traditions on Tuesday at the ashram of Vadeshanabhushana Munimaharaj.

A large number of devotees and Jain monks participated in the last rites.
