BENGALURU: Apart from the Ram Lalla idol, which was sculpted by Mysuru-based Arun Yogiraj, the state can also claim credit for the logo on the Ram mandir Pran Pratishtha invitations being sent out across the country.

The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra picked the logo created by Kalaburagi artist Ramesh Thippanur from among the thousands it received from across the country. The art work was sent to the trust by VHP local leader Gopal. The logo shows Lord Ram encircled by a bright Sun with Lord Hanuman seated below.

Weaver Megharaj has created a saree with the Ram temple design among others.

Ahead of the consecration ceremony of the Ram Lalla idol at the Ram temple in Ayodhya on January 22, Megharaj, a poor weaver from Ilkal, which is famous for its handloom sarees, has created a saree with the Ram temple design on it along with the words ‘Sri Ram’.

Megharaj has previously created various designs on the famous Ilkal sarees including when Narendra Modi took over as Prime Minister, for Independence Day, to wish the movie ‘Kantara’ success at the Oscars, Isro’s Chandrayaan-3 mission, among others. A fan of actor Puneeth Rajkumar and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Megharaj created designs of the actor when he died, and also to wish the IPL team brings home the cup.

108 Taraka homa was performed at Bagalkot.

Meanwhile, over 100 couples took part in the 108 Ramanama Taraka Homa organised under the leadership of Pandit Bindu Acharya Nagasampige at the Gowrishankar Kalyana Mantap here on Friday. The devotees prayed for the successful completion of the consecration ceremonies at Ayodhya and completion of the temple and also for world peace.

Six women are stitching over 1,000 bhagwa flags which will be put up on all houses in the village.

In Bidar taluk’s Kadawada village, six women are preparing 1,000 bhagwa flags to be distributed to all houses in the village. The flags will be put up on the houses on January 22 when the Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Lalla idol will take place at the Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Activists of the Vishwa Hindu Parishat and Bajrang Dal have already made the required cloth available and Indumathi Marakand, Savitha Ninni, Sridevi Meenakeri, Savitha Sheelavanth, Padmavathi Karkanahalli and Ambika Hugar are busy stitching up the flags.

The women say they were inspired by the distribution of mantrakshate to lakhs of people across the country and took up the task of stitching the bhagwa flags.

At the flower and fruit show organised at the Hukkeri Math in Haveri, a replica of the Ram temple has been created using carrots, plantain stalks and thermocol. Also, images of Lord Ram with Hanuman, with Sita and the temple have been created on watermelons.

A youth from Byahatti village in Dharwad district created a huge painting of Lord Ram atop the Anjanadri Hills, the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. Sachin Singammanavar drew a 16×12 feet painting of Lord Ram on the terrace of the temple atop the hill. He created the work of art in just four hours.

In Raichur, devotees of Lord Ram and BJP workers are painting the words ‘Jai Sri Ram’ on the walls of houses with the consent of the house owners while distributing the mantrakshata for the Ram temple consecration on January 22. They are also organising live screening of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony and various temples apart from lighting of lamps and singing of bhajans in the evening on that day.
