BENGALURU: The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Friday raided about 80 locations across the state, including homes and offices, connected to 21 government officials. About 400 ACB officials conducted the raids, including at 10 locations in Bengaluru, based on complaints against the officials for accumulating wealth disproportionate to their known sources of income.
The ACB raided the houses of Shivalingaiah, a gardener wih BDA, at Basavanagudi, Kanakapura Road and Doddakallasandra. Retired registrar (evaluation) of Bangalore North University, Janardhan’s house in Chandra Layout was also raided. Just two months ago, he had conducted the engagement ceremony of his daughter at Palace Grounds.
The other officials raided are Bhimrao Y Pawar, executive engineer, Belagavi; Harish, assistant engineer, Minor Irrigation Department, Udupi; Ramakrishna H V, assistant executive engineer, Minor Irrigation Department, Hassan; Rajiv Purasaiah Nayak, AE, PWD, Karwar; B R Bopaiah, junior engineer, Ponnampet gram panchayat; Madhusudhan, district registrar, IGR office, Belagavi; Parameshwarappa, AE, Minor Irrigation, Hoovinahadagali; Yellappa N Padasali, RTO, Bagalkot; Shankarappa Nagappa Gogi, project director, Nirmiti Kendra, Bagalkot; Pradeep S Alur, panchayat grade secretary, RDPR, Gadag; Siddappa D, chief electrical inspector, Bengaluru, Thimmappa P Sirsagi, district project officer, Bidar; Mrutyunjaya Chennabasaiah Tirani, assistant controller, animal husbandry, Bidar; Mohan Kumar, executive engineer, Irrigation department, Chikkaballapur; Sridhar, district registrar, Karwar; Manjunath G, retired executive engineer, PWD, Bengaluru; Udayaravi, police inspector, Koppal; B G Thimmaiah, case worker, Kadur TMC; Chandrappa C Holekar, Upper Tunga Project, Ranebennur.
The ACB officials raided five locations connected to Karwar district registrar Sridhar including in HSR Layout, Nelamangala and a farmhouse in Harohalli. Valuables including gold, cash and some documents were recovered. Sridhar was previously posted in Ramanagara.
The ACB raided the BTM Layout residence of chief electrical inspector Siddappa D and recovered documents related to two houses and seven sites including four in Shivamogga and three in Honnali, 8-acre farm in Gopadoddanahalli, 1.7 acres in Tavarechattanahalli, Rs 7 lakh in cash and 1 kg of gold.
