BENGALURU: After two bandhs last month over the issue of release of Cauvery river water to Tamil Nadu, Kannada organisations are now planning a bandh in border areas on October 10. Meanwhile, protests are continuing in Mandya, Ramanagara, Mysuru and Bengaluru.
On October 10, Kannada activists have planned to stage a protest at the Attibele checkpost from 10 am to 5 pm and block all Tamil Nadu-registered vehicles from entering the state.
The state has witnessed a poor monsoon this year and the month of September was the driest in many years. Cities like Bengaluru and Mysuru are also staring at a drinking water shortage in the coming days if the water level in the Cauvery basin dams does not improve.
