Factory employee stages kidnap drama to extort money from owner

BENGALURU:  An employee of a factory staged his own kidnapping to extort money from his employer, but was caught by the police during the investigation.

Nurullah Hussain was working in the factory of Mohammad Asif Habib. The owner took care of him well. Nurullah allegedly faked his own kidnap with the help of his friends Abubakar and Ali Reza to extort money from the factory owner.

The accused, who went to Mandya, claimed that some people had taken him in a car. Nurullah contacted the owner Habib over phone and said that he had been kidnapped. He also said that kidnappers were demanding Rs 2 lakh as ransom for his release.

The owner Habib approached the police immediately and was ready to pay Rs 2 lakh. Then, the accused asked to deposit the money into his bank account. Suspecting this, the police and Habib traced the accused’s mobile phone and they were found to be in Mandya.
