ENGALURU: Following the incident where a dead rat was found in a food packet which was supplied to police personnel for security during ‘Bengaluru bandh’ in the city on Tuesday, City Police Commissioner B Dayananda has said that he will henceforth himself taste the food before it is distributed to the police personnel.
A rat was found in the lunch packet given to the police personnel during the Bengaluru bandh on Tuesday. Henceforth, the city police commissioner is considering tasting the food brought for the personnel himself. This is being done to assess the quality of food supplied to police personnel.
The Police Commissioner has also instructed senior officers of the respective jurisdictions to check the breakfast and lunch given to the staff.
Prior to the rat incident, a policeman had found oily food served for breakfast when they had been deployed for the Lord Ganesha procession bandobast duty in the city. Thus, this decision was taken by the city police commissioner to ensure that such incidents should not repeat in the future.
