CHIKKAMAGALUR: The wellknown IDSG Government College here has declared that uniform and display of identity cards will be mandatory on all six days of the week after a video of a girl in burqa attending class went viral.
On Thursday, a student attended class wearing a burqa and a video of this quickly went viral. Confusion prevailed on the campus for some time as a Karnataka High Court order clearly states that only the uniform, wherever mandated, will be allowed.
The police also visited the college. After this, the authorities issued a notification stating that students will be allowed to wear only the uniform from Monday to Saturday and any student turning up without the uniform and identity card will not be allowed into the college.
