BENGALURU: The BJP in the state is preparing to take on the ruling Congress over the budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday wherein the party, both at the Centre and in the state, has been targeted.
When the legislature session resumes on Monday, the BJP plans to attack the Congress over its ‘revenge politics’ and for ‘abusing’ the Centre. The state leaders have already expressed their anger over the targeted attacks on the BJP in the budget document.
The state BJP leaders now plan to take on the government over raising of duties on excise, stamps and registration, motor vehicle tax, etc., and highlight the shortcomings of the budget. The BJP will also look to target the government on increasing the state debt for funding the Congress guarantees, the delay in rolling out the guarantee schemes, dropping previously approved projects and reducing grants for various departments among other issues.
The state BJP will also put forth issues like central grants, state’s share of GST with facts and figures and showcase that agriculture, irrigation, farmer welfare and develoment have taken a backseat.
