BENGALURU: In an road rage incident, the driver of a goods vehicle threatened a scooterist with a knife for questioning him after the vehicle brushed against the two-wheeler near Ramamurthy Nagar bridge on April 7. Two days later, the K R Puram traffic police tracked down the goods vehicle driver and handed him over to the Ramamurthy Nagar police.
A Twitter user going by the name Prakash Shaun (@PrakashShaun11) posted last Friday saying, “Today in Bangalore the Tata Ace driver was using mobile and driving near Ramamurthy nagar bridge He dashed my vehicle from right side when my dad starting asking him he suddenly got down and took knife from the vehicle and started threatening us this must bring to police notice”. He also shared two videos of the incident.

The city police took up a suo motu case and replied to Prakash saying, “Your complaint has been forwarded to @ramamurthyngrps for necessary action in this regard”, and tagged @DCPEASTBCP and @AddlCPEast.
The next day, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Bhimashankar Guled responded to the tweet saying, “Our inspector of Ramamaurthy Nagar 9480801224 tried to reach you for registering your complaint. Join hands with us @BlrCityPolice to set the law into motion against such culprits”.
On Sunday, the KR Puram traffic police posted an update saying that they had traced the accused and handed him over to the Ramamurthy Nagar police. They have also recovered sharp weapons from his vehicle. The accused was identified as Arun Kumar (23), a resident of Seegehalli in KR Puram.
