KSDL chairman resigns; Lokayukta police issue notice for questioning

BENGALURU: Channagiri MLA Madal Virupakshappa on Friday tendered his resignation to the post of chairman of the Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Ltd (KSDL).

In his resignation letter, addressed to the Chief Minister, Virupakshappa has claimed that he is not connected with the Lokayukta raid and added that it was a conspiracy against him and his family members. “But since allegations have been levelled against me, I am taking moral responsibility and resigning from the post of KSDL chairman”, he said in the letter.

Madal Virupakshappa sent his resignation letter to the Chief Minister.

Meanwhile, the Lokayukta police have issued a notice to Virupakshappa to appear before them for questioning in the case. The MLA has been untraceable since Thursday evening.
