Unidentified men set two vehicles on fire in Bengaluru; motive unclear

BENGALURU: Two unidentified men set two vehicles on fire at Kaveri Nagar in Kurubarahalli in the wee hours on Sunday.

A Mahindra XUV300 SUV and a Honda Activa scooter belonging to one Srinivas were set on fire by some miscreants. The vehicles were parked in front of his house and even the front portion of the house was burnt.

In CCTV footage, two men can be seen escaping after setting fire to the SUV.

In CCTV footage, two masked men can be seen pouring petrol on the vehicle, setting it onĀ  fire and escaping from the spot. A case has been registered at the Mahalakshmi Layout Police Station. The police visited the spot and further investigation is under way.

Srinivas, the vehicle owner spoke to the media about the incident.

“Two months ago, unidentified people had set fire to the vehicle and fled. There was no CCTV camera in the place at that time and the police could not find the culprit, so I claimed insurance. This is the second incident. We do not have enmity with anyone in this neighbourhood. We want the police to investigate this matter, and we want to know who is behind it. We want justice and they should be punished”, said Srinivas, the vehicle owner.
