CHAMARAJANAGAR: Jhansi, a German Shepherd dog with the Forest Department in the Biligiri Ranganathaswami Temple tiger reserve, died after being run over by a truck last week near Punajoor.
The officials had remained tightlipped about the death so far. The female dog which had helped in detecting several wildlife crimes, had been trained at the ITBP training centre in Chandigarh.
A case has been registered at the Chamarajanagar Rural police station.
