10 injured, 6 severely hurt after LPG cylinder blast in Mysuru

MYSURU: About 10 people were injured, six of them severly, after an LPG cylinder exploded at the Fire and Emergency Services staff quarters in Bannimantap early on Wednesday. The injured were admitted to a hospital.

Household items in the house were completely damaged after gas cylinder blast.

The fire spread to a neighbouring house also, causing damage to property. The incident occurred as a result of a gas leak when one of the family members lit the gas stove to heat milk.

Four people of a family, including two children aged six and 10, were injured in the incident, while six neighbours also suffered. All the injured people have suffered burn injuries while some of them are in a critical condition.

The injured were admitted to the nearby St Joseph Hospital and are undergoing treatment. The incident occurred in N R police station limits.
