BENGALURU: Following the shocking suicide of businessman Pradeep S on Sunday, the police have now intensified the investigation and are questioning those named in his death note, friends and family members.

The Kaggalipura police recovered three death notes, one letter kept in Pradeep’s wife Namitha’s wardrobe, another stuck to the wiper of a relative’s car, and one more which was found in his car.

Police suspect that he wrote three letter before committing suicide. Before going to the resort where he and his family were spending the New Year’s Eve, he had planned to go to his hometown Sira and had asked Namitha to join him. But she refused and went to the resort. Pradeep may have been upset after the party and went to his house in Bellandur early in the morning. He took his gun and wrote out the death note and attached bank documents to the third letter which was found in his car. He then drove back near the resort.

Pradeep’s relative left the resort around 4 pm and he overtook their car, confirmed that they were coming behind him near Nettigere. When they got close to is car, he shot himself and committed suicide.

Following the incident, the Kaggalipura police registered an FIR against six people mentioned in the death note. It is alleged that BJP MLA Aravind Limbavali pressured the police not to register an FIR and also put pressure on Namita to withdraw her complaint. The police then issued notices to the six accused.

Police are questioning two of people mentioned in the death note apart from Pradeep’s friends. Interestingly, two of his friends have gone missing after the incident and the Kaggalipura police are on the lookout for them. Apart from the death note and the firearm, the police have not found any other physical evidence and are collecting technical evidence.

The police are expected to get the call detail records of Pradeep and Namitha and will also verify his bank accounts and real estate business. After his friends are questioned, the police are preparing to question MLA Aravind Limbavali too. Pradeep’s wife Namitha’s statement has already been recorded, but the police have not got clear information from the family.
