KOLAR: Sportspersons and sports enthusiasts in Kolar city are livid after the officials of the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department (RDPR) littered the Visvesvaraya Stadium and left it in a mess after conducting a programme.
The RDPR Department had organised a sports meet at the stadium over the weekend. Early on Monday morning, when sports and fitness enthusiasts visited the stadium, they were appalled by the mess left behind — paper cups, plates and empty water bottles were strewn all around.
“Officials who are supposed to create awareness about Swachh Bharat Abhiyan are themselves creating this mess. What message are they giving the people?” a local asked.
Some of those who had come to the stadium themselves got down to cleaning the entire place and rid it of all the garbage.
