BENGALURU: A man killed his friend over a financial dispute and surrendered along with his body and other evidence at the police station on Monday night. The deceased has been identified as Maheshappa, a resident of Himanagundi in Nanjanagud and the accused has been identified as Rajashekhar.
Rajashekhar and Maheshappa met at Ramamurthy Nagar and became good friends. Maheshappa had borrowed money from several people, including Rajashekhar and his mother, promising that he will get them loans from a bank, but escaped with the money. Rajashekhar was forced to pay off all the other creditors by selling his property. He searched for Maheshappa everywhere and finally found him in his native.
Rajashekhar took him in the car and stopped at Avalahalli, where he attacked him with an iron rod, asking him to repay all the money. Rajashekhar alleged that around Rs 1.5 crore was due to him. After the attack, he kept Maheshappa in the car till morning, where he severely bled. When he woke up, he found Maheshappa dead. He then surrendered at the Ramamurthy Nagar police station along with Maheshappa’s body.
A case has been registered at the Ramamurthy Nagar police station. The police have arrested the accused and further investigation is under way.
