According to a fact-checking website, “A fight erupted between two lawyers competing against each other in a family court case in Kasganj, Uttar Pradesh. The lawyers started fighting when things got heated up during their trial for a couple. Local police booked a case against the two”. The fact-checking website concluded that the video was misleading.
When contacted, Ajith Kalyan, a lawyer, who practices in the Karnataka High Court, told Public TV, “Judges follow certain protocols. It is misleading to say that a judge and a lawyer were involved in the fight. The incident, a video of which has gone viral, occurred about 10 days ago. Physical fights on court premises is inappropriate behaviour on the part of legal practitioners. I think they fought because of differences in opinion, and they may have been representing two different parties”.
