DAVANAGERE: A youth has been booked under the POCSO Act for allegedly sexually exploiting a minor girl with the promise of marriage, at a village in Davangere taluk.
Alliance talks were held for the 15-year-old minor with the youth and both families decided to get them married after she turned 18. Taking advantage of this closeness, the youth was coming to the minor’s house and sexually exploited her.
Family members admitted her to hospital after the girl developed stomach pain. During check-up, it came to light that the minor girl was pregnant. Thus, her parents filed a POCSO case against the youth at the Davangere Rural police station.
