FIR registered against police inspector and brothers for alleged murder attempt over land dispute

BENGALURU: An FIR has been registered against a police inspector and his family over allegations of assault and attempt to murder.

According to the complaint, an altercation broke out on the night of October 4 when Inspector Kishore Kumar and about 25-30 other went near the house house of couple Fatima, Kanikya Raj and created a ruckus. The inspector and his associates allegedly assaulted Fatima, Kanikya Raj, Balaraj, Naveen Kumar and Nakshatra with machetes, sticks and stones.

The incident is a fallout of a dispute regarding a site at Homadevanahalli Gramathana-91. The complaint says that the accused had conspired to grab land using influence. Earlier also, quarrel happened four times and a non-cognisable report was filed.

A case related the land in question is before a court. But Kishore Kumar have been accused of coming often with a gang and creating a ruckus. This time, a quarrel broke out after the couple got an injunction order from a court. The accused questioned the couple for getting the injunction order and allegedly tried to murder Fatima and Kanikya Raj, who are now living in fear of life.

A tense situation prevailed in Homadevanahalli the following day and a route march was held by the by police to maintain law and order. A case has been registered at Hulimavu police station against Inspector Kishore Kumar, his brothers Anil Kumar and Praveen Kumar, Nagaveni, Nagaraj, Nanjundareddy Ajay and others.

Kishore Kumar worked in major stations in Bengaluru and is now posted in a non-executive position. His brother Anil Kumar is an influential Congress leader while another brother Praveen Kumar is a lawyer and politician.
