DAVANAGERE: A student of the Pushpa Mahalingappa residential school in the city went missing on Thursday night. Luckily, he was traced to Channagiri on Friday morning.

Digant (14), a Class 9 student of Pushpa Mahalingappa residential school in Davanagere city and a native of Channagiri, went missing on Thursday evening. The school staff called his parents around 11 pm and informed them about the missing boy.

The parents arrived at the school and spent the night shedding tears. They expressed suspicion that their son had gone missing due to ragging by other students. On Friday morning, Diganth was found at the Channagiri bus stand. As soon as information was received, acquaintances called the boy’s parents and informed them.

Diganth was later taken to a relatives’ house. He claimed that classmates had ragged him and hence, he had left school. A few days ago, another student from the same school had gone missing and was later found in Arasikere of Hassan district.
