BENGALURU: A section of the Kannada film industry has expressed disappointment over the cancellation of the film festival during the Dasara festival. The Mysuru district administration has dropped ‘Dasara Film Festival’, which was part of ‘Navratri’ celebration, this time.
Film director Mansore (Manjunatha Somakeshava Reddy), expressing his disappointment on social media, wrote, “It is not right to have dropped Dasara Film Festival which was happening every year this time. The decision of the government to drop the limited opportunities that exist to create audience with good taste is definitely not acceptable”.
The film industry feels that Kannada films have been neglected by dropping Dasara film festival and several people associated with the industry and also the audience have expressed displeasure over cancellation of the film festival.
