BENGALURU: Two girl students, who went missing eight months ago from Vidyaranyapura in the city after leaving home for college, have been finally traced by the CID police and were produced before a court on Wednesday.
Tanishka R was studying PUC II while Tejaswini was studying PUC I and they went missing on January 31. The Vidyaranyapura police had registered a missing persons’ case and proceeded to trace the girls. After about five months, Tanishka’s family approached the High Court following which the case was transferred to the CID which managed to track them after three months of searching.
During preliminary investigation, the Vidyaranyapura police had found the two girls had gone to Male Mahadeshwara hills where they had played with a child and taken a selfie with the child and the mother. After this, there was no clue about young women.
The girls had met a youth at Male Mahadeshwara hills, who hailed from Kanakapura taluk, and Tanishka had lied to him that due to pressure at home, she and her younger sister had fled. She also told him that they had no parents or family and went with him. The youth had married Tanishka and after marriage, Tanishka had kept Tejaswini with her claiming that she was her younger sister. Tanishka is also pregnant now.
Tanishka was caught by the CID while purchasing a SIM card for her mobile phone. Tanishka gave her Aadhaar card to purchase a SIM and the service provider immediately informed the CID about usage of Aadhaar card number. The CID police then brought back both the girls to Bengaluru.
