Poultry traders oppose Rs 5 per kg fee for clearing chicken waste, stage protest

BENGALURU: Poultry traders in the city staged a protest over the increase in chicken waste disposal fee. They are opposing the decision to levy fee of Rs 5 per kg for chicken waste.

Karnataka Poultry Traders Association has claimed that the fee is an unnecessary burden on traders and contractors and has demanded that the Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML) withdraw the fee hike.

The traders staged a protest at Freedom Park and have demanded that the government should respond to their problems.
