CHIKKODI: High drama prevailed at Upparawadi village in Kagawad taluk of Belagavi district on Thursday when a young woman arrived at the house of a man, who had cheated her after promising to marry her, and insisted on marrying him.
The woman, identified as Megha from Kagawad town, alleged that Akshay Uppar of Upparawadi village has cheated her, saying he will not marry her now after being together for the last six months. Megha, who came to the house of Akshay, said injustice has been done to her as he has used he in all ways and is now refusing to marry her.
Megha was adamant that she will not leave his house until he marries her. She claimed that she and Akshay were in love for the last several years and to destroy evidence, he took her mobile phone from her hand and smashed it.
The Kagawad police visited the house and advised the parties involved to visit the police station and to resolve the dispute.
