TUMAKURU: A two-year-old boy, who was playing outside his grandfather’s house near Santedeepa in Bukkapatna, Sira taluk, died after being hit by a unidentified car. The deceased was identified as Huzaifa.
When his grandfather Sikandar had come home yesterday, the boy was playing in front of the house when a car ran over him. Huzaifa was son of Abbas, a resident of Madhugiri. A luxury car was travelling on the same road at that time. It is suspected that the same car that caused the accident.

A case has been registered at Sira police station regarding the incident, and police are now trying to trace the car that fled after committing the act.
In another accident, two labourers died on the spot and six others were injured after a lorry rammed into a tractor carrying labourers coming from another state to Bengaluru for work.

The tragedy occurred on National Highway-44 near Jogihalli in Sira taluk around 3 am on Friday. It is reported that 10 labourers in the tractor were from Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The deceased are Bari Lal (30) and Golu (35) from Chhattisgarh.
The lorry has Maharashtra registration and the driver is in police custody. A case has been registered at Kallambella police station and the injured are being treated at the district hospital.
