BENGALURU: An elderly man lost his life due to the negligence of a water tanker driver after he knocked down a two-wheeler, in Yelahanka New Town on Friday morning. The victim’s two grandchildren escaped with injuries.
The deceased is Venkatanna (67). The scene of the tanker knocking down the two-wheeler and running over him was captured on CCTV. The grandchildren Shravani (12) and Vardhan (7) were also injured in the accident and were treated at a private hospital.
Venkatanna, had gone to drop the grandchildren at school when the water tanker, taking a left turn, ran over the two-wheeler. Based on a complaint filed by Venkatanna’s son Venugopal, a case has been registered at Yelahanka Traffic police station and the tanker driver has been taken into custody.
